THE WASHINGTON POST — CRITIC'S CHOICE
Style’s critics highlight their must-see events for this week.

ZUKERMAN AND PUCKETT SCHREIER
"[CONCERT] Edouard van Cleeff was a reasonably successful French composer who was imprisoned in Dachau in World War II and, after his release, never wrote again. His music is being reclaimed by soprano Arianna Zukerman (yes, her father is the violinist) and pianist Joy Puckett Schreier, who have put four van Cleeff works at the heart of a program of German- and French-language Lieder and chansons. They had unparalleled access to van Cleeff's unpublished works: Puckett Schreier is the composer's great-niece. The songs' Washington premiere will offer a chance to see if this is more than just a family affair."
